Unplugged – Managing the Data Security and Environmental Risks of Obsolete Electronic

4THBIN participates in a panel discussion on the topic of managing data security and environmental risks
Webinar

4THBIN will be participating in a panel discussion at the SIM New York Metro Event on the topic of managing data security and environmental risks.

Properly disposing of obsolete devices remains a top priority in a society invaded by cyberattacks. Often overlooked, end-of-life electronics pose significant risks for data security and environmental hazards. Even after being disconnected from their network, end-of-life devices are capable of experiencing data breaches that can adversely impact an organization’s economics and reputation.

With over 50 million metric tons of e-waste being generated yearly, only 20% ends up being properly disposed of. So far, 26 states have implemented laws mandating the responsible recycling of e-waste. Fines surpassing $60M have been imposed against organizations that were inconsistent with required policies. This event intends to spread knowledge to the SIM NY members of the risks associated with data security, and techniques to manage them.
