With Earth Month just around the corner, there is no better time to announce our partnership with Spare-it! As the fastest-growing component of the municipal waste stream in the United States, e-waste is a significant issue. The World Economic Forum determined that 50 million tons of e-waste are produced each year. This already alarmingly high number is expected to more than double to 120 million tons by 2050. The toxic components found in e-waste, such as cadmium, lead, nickel, mercury, and chromium, pose major environmental and health hazards and account for nearly 70% of the toxic waste found in landfills.
