4THBIN and Spare-it Team Up to Provide an Innovative Approach Towards E-waste Recycling
We are excited to announce our partnership with Spare-it
With Earth Month just around the corner, there is no better time to announce our partnership with Spare-it! Spare-it is a SaaS platform for workplace sustainability with innovative technology that enables access to live waste intelligence at the bin/floor level. 4THBIN and Spare-it are both ecologically-focused companies that share the same values regarding sustainable e-recycling practices and secure data destruction. Together, Spare-it and 4THBIN will support leading organizations' (SP500 and universities) sustainability road maps, uniquely leveraging data intelligence to accelerate their workplace decarbonization and circularity.
4THBIN and Spare-it’s partnership aims to provide an innovative and seamless approach to securely recycling e-waste. We have outlined the following three measures below:
1- Access to your data
Improving circularity and reducing waste requires access to real data. The vast majority of companies do not have access to their waste stream’s data. Typically, the only waste and recyclable data companies have access to is extracted from large dumpsters; thus bulky and shared.
Spare-it is changing this, providing its leading customers with live waste intelligence. Thanks to data, they can better understand consumption and improve the sustainability footprint of their sourcing, as well as their recycling strategies.
2- E-waste strategy
As the fastest-growing component of the municipal waste stream in the United States, e-waste is a significant issue. The World Economic Forum determined that 50 million tons of e-waste are produced each year. This already alarmingly high number is expected to more than double to 120 million tons by 2050. The toxic components found in e-waste, such as cadmium, lead, nickel, mercury, and chromium, pose major environmental and health hazards and account for nearly 70% of the toxic waste found in landfills.
4THBIN is passionate about providing their customers with responsible and sustainable e-recycling solutions. With more than a decade of experience, 4THBIN has helped their clients recycle over 10 million pounds of e-waste, which contributed to the reduction of over 14.5 million pounds of greenhouse gas emissions and eliminated over 298,000 pounds of toxic metals and lead from our landfills. 4THBIN is honored to help their clients make a big impact and take action against e-waste.
3- Together
By joining forces, Spare-it and 4THBIN will help companies progress in their understanding of their waste footprint, as well as improve their circularity and waste reduction. We are passionate about contributing to the future of the workplace and are looking forward to helping companies and organizations prioritize their sustainability efforts and make a big impact.
