NEW YORK, June 21, 2021 – 4THBIN, a leading e-recycler and data destruction company, announces today the appointment of 4THBIN’s CEO, Paul Kirsch, to e-Stewards’ Leadership Council, effective January 2022.

e-Stewards is the industry’s gold standard that recognizes electronics recyclers that adhere to the most stringent environmental and socially responsible practices. 4THBIN was New York City’s first company to be certified by e-Stewards and has received Ecovadis’ platinum rating, placing 4THBIN in the top 1% of their most responsible companies.

“Electronic waste continues to be the fastest-growing waste stream, yet the recycling rates remain disappointingly low,” said Mr. Kirsch. “The opportunity to have a big impact is real, and I am excited to join e-Stewards Leadership Council in their mission to drive awareness of, and motivate action against, this unprecedented challenge,” added Kirsch.

With this appointment, Mr. Kirsch will join a diverse multi-stakeholder community that ranges from non-profits, small businesses to multi-million-dollar transnational companies united around developing and promoting responsible electronics recycling reuse best practices worldwide.

The e-Stewards Leadership Council serves as an advisory body, making recommendations to the e-Stewards program in areas including international expansion, the e-Stewards Standard development, environmental and social policy, as well as technical matters related to electronics recycling and reuse.

Spring is a season of fresh starts. Offices get reorganized, storage rooms finally get cleaned out, and outdated technology that has been sitting untouched for months suddenly comes back into focus. Old laptops, retired servers, unused monitors, and devices that have reached end of life often take up more space than businesses realize. At the same time, many of these electronics still contain sensitive data and materials that should never end up in a landfill.
