Why the Fall is the Perfect Time to Reassess Your E-Waste Strategy

Fall is here and it is the season of fresh starts. October is when many organizations pause to review their priorities, set goals for the months ahead, and prepare for year-end. It is also the perfect time to take a closer look at your technology. Old laptops, unused monitors, and forgotten hard drives often pile up quietly, taking up space while still containing sensitive data and materials that can cause harm if not handled correctly.

Each year, more than 60 million metric tons of e-waste are generated around the world, yet only a small percentage is recycled responsibly. The result is millions of devices sitting forgotten in closets or ending up in landfills, many of them still containing confidential data. For organizations, this creates serious risks since improperly discarded electronics are one of the most common ways data breaches occur.

Enjoy a Sustainable Fall with 4THBIN

At 4THBIN, we provide certified data destruction services that go far beyond standard wiping methods. Our process permanently eliminates all data, ensuring it can never be recovered or misused. This gives our clients peace of mind and helps them meet strict compliance requirements. Guided by our commitment to “No data left behind,” we are proud to maintain a record of 100 percent data compliance with zero data breaches.

Alongside our data protection services, we offer certified e-waste recycling that ensures devices are processed responsibly. Hazardous materials are kept out of the environment, and valuable resources are recovered to support a circular economy. For businesses with hybrid or remote teams, our RemoteReturn program makes it easy to collect devices from employees no matter where they are located. We provide shipping options and tracking so equipment is returned safely and securely without disrupting your operations. Through our 4THBIN 4GOOD program, we also bring these solutions into schools and communities, helping people better understand the impact of e-waste and empowering them to make more sustainable choices.

Happy Halloween!

To some, the spookiest part of Halloween may be the ghosts or vampires, but to us, it’s the plastic waste that is left behind. Nearly 2,000 tonnes of plastic waste are generated yearly from Halloween scraps, the equivalent of 83 million water bottles. Similar to electronic waste, the scraps that are left behind from Halloween will end up in a landfill - posing major hazards to the environment and humanity.
