4THBIN is proud to spotlight our partnership with Macktez as their Tête à Tech event series returns for its third year. Known for bringing together innovative thinkers across technology, science, business, and the arts, this thoughtfully curated series creates space for meaningful dialogue and fresh perspective in an intimate setting.

As part of our ongoing collaboration, we are excited to offer members of the 4THBIN community a complimentary ticket to attend these conversations. In addition, attendees will receive 10% off their next pickup with 4THBIN, making it easier than ever to stay connected while prioritizing secure and responsible technology practices.

Hosted at Macktez’s East Village office, each event features Macktez CEO and Founder Noah Landow in conversation with a distinguished guest. Together, they explore the “why” behind today’s most important ideas before opening the discussion to the room over drinks and snacks. The result is an engaging and often surprising experience designed to spark curiosity and connection.

With several events still ahead this season, there are multiple opportunities to join the conversation.

Macktez Events

March 19 — Mapping the Invisible, from Technology to Biology

Featuring Kevin Slavin, President and Co Founder of Fairfield Bio, this session explores how large scale genomic data is becoming essential infrastructure for monitoring biosafety and anticipating public health challenges. The conversation will also touch on intellectual property, bioethics, and the evolving relationship between biology, technology, and capitalism.

April 23 — The Jagged Frontier of Machine Learning: Astonishingly Capable but Surprisingly Brittle

Why can generative AI produce complex code or poetry in seconds yet struggle with basic logic? Noah is joined by Samer Sabri, Software Engineer at Google, for a deep dive designed for broad audiences into the contradictions that may reveal a deeper structure behind machine intelligence.

May 7 — Art and Money Need Not Be Strange Bedfellows

Ruby Lerner, Founder of Creative Capital, is widely recognized for reshaping arts philanthropy by building sustainable career paths for creators. In this conversation, she and Noah will discuss what it truly takes for art to thrive in the modern era.

May 21 — Simulation, Estimation, and the Built World: Redefining Construction in an Age of AI

Ian Veidenheimer, Founder of fab.venture, joins Noah to explore the strategic role of artificial intelligence in architecture and construction. Moving beyond familiar ideas of automation, the discussion will highlight more advanced applications shaping the future of the built environment.

Each Tête à Tech event is an opportunity to explore cultural, scientific, historical, and personal topics while drawing connections across disciplines. The welcoming environment encourages conversations that are casual yet illuminating, offering attendees the chance to engage directly with thought leaders and peers alike.

Roses Are Red, Violets Are Blue, Your Old Devices Still Have Data Too

Valentine’s Day is about showing love, taking care of what matters, and not taking the things we rely on for granted. While most people think of flowers, cards, and chocolates, organizations have something else worth caring for this season: their retired technology.

The Importance of Data Destruction in a Digital World

The start of a new year is a natural time for organizations to reset. Budgets are reviewed, systems are upgraded, and long term strategies are put into motion. Yet one area that is often overlooked is what happens to data stored on technology that has reached the end of its life. Old laptops, servers, hard drives, and mobile devices may no longer be in use, but the data on them does not disappear on its own. Without proper destruction, that information can remain accessible and vulnerable.

The Gift of Sustainability with 4THBIN

The holiday season is in full swing. Offices are decorated, calendars are packed with year-end milestones, and new technology is making its way into homes and workplaces. December is a time for wrapping things up, literally and figuratively. Along with gifts, gatherings, and festive traditions, it is also when old electronics finally come out of hiding.

Don’t Let Holiday Shopping Deals Put Your Data or The Planet at Risk

Black Friday and Cyber Monday are coming, and millions of people and businesses will be upgrading devices at the same time. The deals are everywhere. Phones, laptops, monitors, tablets, and accessories are suddenly hundreds of dollars off, and retailers are offering bundles, limited-time discounts, and free shipping that can make it hard to resist. While it is tempting to click “buy” on the latest tech, it is important to be aware of the risks that come with this shopping surge. Upgrading tech often means old devices are discarded, and if they are not properly handled, they can create serious data security and environmental issues.
